  • WHAT IS KTX?

    KTX (Korea Train eXpress) is South Korea's high-speed rail system, operated by Korail, the national railroad corporation. It launched in 2004 and today carries over 80 million passengers a year.

  • HOW FAST DOES KTX GO?

    KTX trains typically run at speeds around 305 kph (190 mph), with a speed limit of up to 330 kph (205 mph) on some lines.

  • WHAT ROUTES DOES KTX COVER?

    The KTX network stretches from Seoul in the north to Busan in the south, with branches to Gwangju, Yeosu, Pohang, Gangneung, and Mokpo. The most popular route by far is Seoul–Busan.

  • HOW LONG IS THE SEOUL TO BUSAN TRIP?

    The Seoul–Busan trip takes about 2 hours 15 minutes.

KTX Route Seoul - Busan

Traveling by KTX train from Seoul to Busan is very easiest and fast, as it can take as short as 2 hours 15 minutes. This is definitely smoother than air travel, and more convenient than taking a plane.

KTX Route Seoul - Daegu

The distance from Seoul to Daegu is 310 km, and travel time is around 1 hour and 30 minutes by ktx train, operated by Korail. It is also the quickest and most comfortable way.

KTX Route Seoul - Jeonju

The journey from Seoul to Jeonju by a ktx train takes approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes. The distance between cities is 237 km. It is a very comfortable way to reach the western part of Korea.

KTX Route Seoul - Ulsan

The distance between the capital of Korea, Seoul, and Ulsan is 404 km. Train journey between the cities takes approximately 2 hours, and brings very nice experiences, as you travel in comfort and ease.

KTX Route Seoul - Daejeon
KTX high-speed train from Seoul to Daejon has more than 50 daily departures. It takes approximately 50 minutes to travel between the 2 cities. The distance is 160 km.

KTX Route Seoul - Gwangju

There are multiple daily departures for Seoul to Gwangju (and reverse route). The distance between the two cities is 357 km, and it takes around 1 hour and 45 minutes to travel.

KTX Route Seoul - Suwon
The travel from Seoul to Suwon by a ktx train takes approximately 30 minutes. The distance between cities is 41 km. It is a very comfortable way to travel around Korea.
KTX Route Seoul - Pyeongtaek
